LAL had the great pleasure to welcome Miss Bethany Eldridge, completing a dissertation for the partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Educational Studies) in the University of Michigan 2025.
“This case study offered the opportunity to study a particular use of localized OER by teachers in the Global South at the classroom and school level. LAL’s intention for Tabshoura was to provide access to the Lebanese national curriculum. The teachers reported the decisions they made about how to use Tabshoura to implement the appropriate pedagogical approaches to enable students to direct their own learning and to collaborate with other students. Most teachers explained how they used the platform to facilitate alternative learning outside the classroom and how they reordered lessons, simplified activities, and combined Tabshoura with additional activities to meet students’ needs.”
Her study was conducted in 2023 to early 2024 and published in 2025.
