Walid Abu Saifan & Nagi Ghorra from Lebanese Alternative Learning have attended the first ever H5P Conference in Tromsø – Norway.

In the Hall Of The Scandic Hotel “The Edge” where we had the plenary sessions

It was a very interesting conference with 65 participants mainly from northern Europe. The other continents were less represented, with only 2 Americans, 4 Asians (including us) and no participants from Africa or Australia attending. There were talks about different ways to use the H5P activities and Nagi Ghorra showcased a drag-and-drop crossword activity created by Muriel Albina, one of our major Pedagogical Coordinators in the Girls Can Count project.

We also had some workshops in small groups in the Rom For Læring building where LAL’s team worked on the right-to-left adaptation of the H5P activities.

There was a very interesting presentation of the vision and the roadmap of the H5P team that envisioned a very bright future for the community, especially regarding the new ways of managing free or copyrighted contents and how to share them.

Luckily, we had time to explore Tromsø and its surroundings between activities, which were simply amazing. This article would not be complete if it did not mention the kindness of all of the team members and all Norwegian people in general as well as the extraordinary beautiful country that they preserve so well.

One can think that paradise on earth must be found on a tropical island. Even if Tromsø is far from tropical, being located 350 kilometers above the Polar Circle, it is not far from being a paradise in terms of natural beauty, calm and cleanliness.

We also had the chance to see the Northern Lights and here is a picture and a video filmed by one of the participants Stewart Lamb Cromar
